Ellington and Erixon Recalled By Vancouver

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled defensemen Sebastian Erixon and Taylor Ellington from the Chicago Wolves.

ERIXON shares fourth among Wolves defensemen with 8 points (G, 7A) in 30 games this season during his North American debut.

The 22-year-old blueliner set career-highs with five goals, 15 assists and 20 points in 44 outings with Timra of the Swedish Elite League last season. Overall, the Sundsvall, Sweden, native registered 12 goals, 22 assists and 34 points in 167 contests with Timra from 2006 to 2011.

ELLINGTON made his Wolves debut in the team’s 1-0 overtime loss at Rockford Sunday night after being reassigned from the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings to Chicago earlier that morning. Prior to joining the Wolves he posted 15 assists and 22 points in 55 outings with the K-Wings this year.

The 22-year-old blueliner skated in 14 ECHL games with the Victoria Salmon Kings last season, posting 3 assists and 18 penalty minutes. The Victoria, British Columbia, native notched 29 assists, 39 points and 101 penalty minutes in 125 career ECHL matchups with Victoria and Kalamazoo spanning three seasons (2009-present). He also accrued 5 points (2G, 3A) in 21 career AHL outings with Chicago and the Manitoba Moose spanning three seasons (2008-present).
