Disappointing Ice Cream

Hey, Wolves Fans!! Glad everyone enjoyed Mo’s Blog and he has agreed to make a couple more guest appearances before the end of the season.

We had a successful road trip to Peoria last week and as you know, whenever we go on the road, one thing is certain, there will be ice cream at the pre-game meal.

It was a bit of a rollercoaster pregame meal as expectations were high. Everyone seemed to be pretty impressed with the presentation of the food, nice décor and there was a great spot for the ice cream.  It wasn’t out yet, which if you remember is key, because otherwise the ice cream melts before dessert time.  Also, they had a few large martini glasses that looked to be where they would put the toppings, which is also a great sign.  As I was finishing my last few bites of my meal, the hotel staff started to bring in the pre-scooped bowls of ice cream.  It was going to be a successful dessert. Perfect timing. Pre-scooped bowls. Which meant no risk of getting sticky hands.  I got up to the table and FLOPPPP! I immediately noticed the lack of GOOD toppings.  Again, I will give them props for trying, because they did have coconut shavings, but the rest was crumbs of leftover nuts and other subpar toppings.  Despite having decent ice cream, the overall emotional roller coaster of the meal was too much to recover from.  I gave it 1 ½ Stars!!!

One of the best parts about our upcoming trip to Texas is the opportunity to get out of the recent snowstorm and feel the warmth of the sun for a few days.  That and getting the chance to take two games off of the top-ranked Stars.  The team had a good, hard week of practice in preparing for the upcoming battles.  Now all that is left is to refill the toiletry kit, pack some short-sleeved shirts, maybe a light jacket, sunglasses and head to the airport.
