Chicago Wolves defenseman Brad Hunt will be making two appearances at northwest suburban libraries as part of the 18th season of the “Read to Succeed” program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc.

The appearances are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 17. Hunt visits Huntley Area Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road, at 4:30 p.m. before starting his program at Cary Area Public Library, 1606 Three Oaks Road, at 7 p.m.

The “Read to Succeed” program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. Hunt will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.

Children can win prizes --- including Wolves hats, pennants, and tickets --- to upcoming games for setting and achieving reading goals. One lucky child will get to try on a complete set of hockey equipment.

Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program as Wolves players will make appearances at more than 20 select libraries throughout the Chicago area.

Wreck It Ralph - Life of Pi http://www.chicagowolves.org/multimedia/blogs-and-podcasts/brad-hunt-blog/item/3393-wreck-it-ralph-life-of-pi http://www.chicagowolves.org/multimedia/blogs-and-podcasts/brad-hunt-blog/item/3393-wreck-it-ralph-life-of-pi Wreck It Ralph - Life of Pi

Hello, movie fans. Welcome to Brad's Rad Movie Reviews! One of my favorite things to do outside of hockey is to catch up on the new movies released in theaters.

Wreck it Ralph

What a great idea by Disney. This movie is great for everyone. Wreck-It Ralph is a video game in which Ralph is the bad guy who tries to destroy a building and Fix-It Felix is a repair man that has to repair all the damage before the building is destroyed. Well, Ralph has come to a conclusion that he does not want to be an outcast anymore simply because he feels he doesn’t have any respect from the characters in his game. Ralph decides to do the unthinkable and escape from his game seeking a medal to prove to the characters in his game that he can be a hero. The thing is, is that once he leaves his game, it now becomes out of order and everyone is now at risk of being permanently stuck in a game that does not work anymore. What will happen next???

Life of Pi

The idea for this movie comes from a book that was published in 2001. This movie is about a boy with a very distinct personality. He practices many religions and is actually a very smart boy. One day his parents sit him down at the dinner table and tell him that the family and the farm are moving to North America. Well, the ship they are sailing on gets hit by a massive storm. With the boy being the only survivor, he is hurtled into an amazing adventure of faith and discovery. Not only does he have to cope with living stranded at sea, he also has to survive the fierce Bengal Tiger that is on his rescue boat. This is a great story of survival and how Pi and the Tiger both need each other to stay alive.

Getting Into Game Mode http://www.chicagowolves.org/multimedia/blogs-and-podcasts/brad-hunt-blog/item/3301-getting-into-game-mode http://www.chicagowolves.org/multimedia/blogs-and-podcasts/brad-hunt-blog/item/3301-getting-into-game-mode Getting Into Game Mode

Hey there, Wolves fans! I hope everyone is doing great. As everyone knows, training camp is now over and the season is about to begin this Saturday. Over the last couple days we have been getting into game mode and preparing for the weekend.

Since I haven't posted in a while, I will recap on the tail end of the camp. We headed into Milwaukee last Saturday and came out with a big victory. The boys were pumped to finish off the exhibition season with a win.

Sunday, we had the day off to relax so I decided to head over to a movie. I went and saw Looper with Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. This movie is about time travelling assassins called loopers. What happens is that in the future if the mob wanted to get rid of someone they would send that person back 30 years in the past where the looper would be waiting to finish them. If you decide to go and see this movie make sure you bring your thinking caps. I thought it was okay but there was lots going on and I found it hard to keep track.

Monday, we had a little conditioning test that included some sprints as well as a longer distance test. After all the tests were complete, we headed over to the bowling alley with all the guys and bowled a bit and played pool. It was great to get all the guys together.

The home opener is this Saturday, October 13, against the Rockford Icehogs at 7:00 pm at the Allstate Arena.

I hope that everyone enjoyed my posts over the last week or so, I really enjoyed doing them. Thanks so much for reading them and have a great week leading up to the big game on Saturday.

Take care Wolves fans. Cheer loud and have fun.
