Game-Day Entertainment Crew - Spirit Team

The Chicago Wolves Professional hockey team is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as members of our Spirit Team for the 2013-14 season. The position provides a great opportunity to interact with fans and to learn about the operations of a professional sports team by working home games and events.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate and manage the Wolves “Fan Interactive Kids Zone”
  • Operate, manage and clean up the Wolves Saturday evening “Fun Fest”
  • Assist with various charitable drives and initiatives
  • Assist with other non-game events (optional)

Communications Intern

Job Description:   

The Chicago Wolves seek an intern --- preferably one with a journalism and/or media relations background --- to assist in all facets of the team’s communications endeavors during the 2013-14 season. This individual will work ALL regular-season road games from Chicago as well as many home games at Allstate Arena. The intern also assists with daily operations in the business office. Duties include writing and editing game stories on deadline, calling local media after games with score updates and assisting in the production of game-day materials. There will be opportunities to help other departments in the Wolves front office as well. This is a full-time paid internship that runs approximately from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

Requirements:

  • Journalism experience and knowledge of AP Style. Strong writing skills are crucial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with InDesign and Adobe Photoshop is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation as the job requires frequent travel to the business office in Glenview, the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, and the team’s practice facility in Hoffman Estates.
  • Hockey knowledge is a plus.
  • Must have a college diploma or be enrolled in an accredited university.
